Looking for a gorgeous venue for up to 400 guests with sweeping hills overlooking the Chester River, a large historic manor house for you and 40+ of your closest friends, a pool, and multiple options for scenic outdoor ceremony sites? Oh, and one that happens to have your favorite flower farm + wedding florist just 15 minutes away? Then Brittland Manor should jump to the top of your list!
Natalie + Tyler stroll through the fields; the entrance sign!; Lindsay and her girls walk in the circle drive
Heading down the long drive towards the property really sets the scene for an immersive wedding experience, away from all the hustle and bustle yet close enough for easy access to local amenities. While all receptions take place on the brick patio near the house, couples begin the day with their choice of ceremony site. Let us take you through some of our experiences as the florist at Brittland Estates!
Waterfront Wedding
Before getting to the manor house, a small lane heads down towards the waterfront and the River Lodge. This area is great for rehearsal dinners, a getting-ready location for the groomsmen, or a waterfront ceremony! While you’re there, make sure to have your photographer get some pictures on the dock!! Couples will often rent a golf cart to help ferry their guests back up the hill towards the reception.
Kelly + Brett pose on the dock and with their dog under our wooden arch; Justin’s groomsmen pin on boutonnieres by the River Lodge; Lindsay + Damian say their I Do’s under our wooden arch; Kayla + Liam had a gorgeous waterfront ceremony in August with bright shades of pink and peach as their florals!
By the Manor House
Do you prefer to keep things a little closer together? There are multiple options right next to the house, as well! This makes things easy for the bridal party, who typically get ready in the manor house suite.
Lindsay poses in the bridal suite with her pink and white bouquet; Natalie’s bouquet rests on a vintage couch; Stephanie + Elliot pose in the sitting room of the manor house; Sarah’s bridesmaid holds bouquets in the entrance hall.
The front of Brittland Manor boasts stately white columns against a broad brick backdrop, with a circle driveway that designates the perfect space for your guests and aisle. Some choose to place a floral arch within the circle of grass close to their guests, while others have used the front steps as their ceremony spot.
Natalie and her wedding party stroll in front of Brittland; Stephanie + Elliot seek shelter from rain on the front steps; Marcella + Justin pose with family near the porch; Sarah + Tyler share a kiss while their wedding party walks by.
To the side of the house is a classic wrought iron gate, leading your wedding party + guests into the remainder of the property and all of it’s natural views! Always a popular spot for photos, one of our couples opted for a floral garland to be hung on both sides to make the entrance even more inviting.

A Garden AND a Pool?!
Take a few steps down to the right into the low brick walled Garden, with it’s own fountain, florals, and huge tree. Another few steps down takes you to the pool area, and surrounding fields that can also be used for a ceremony site. Cocktail hours are often held in either the garden or pool area, or even both!
Sofie + Shaun take wedding party photos in the garden during a break in the rain.
A View of Everything
Back up through the garden, you can see the brick patio (with built-in tent holders!) where the receptions are held! The grassy area behind it makes another perfect ceremony site, situated at the top of a hill overlooking the farm fields and river below.
Natalie + Tyler (above) built their own wooden arch for us to attach florals to, while Marcella + Justin (below) chose to rent ours to keep their planning process streamlined. It’s also fun to note when different crops are growing, or when the fields are between seasons, and how that might change the look of your wedding day!
Sarah + Tyler chose to let the natural beauty of the Chester River serve as their ceremony backdrop with no arch, but lined the aisle with flower petals instead!
Staying Dry through it All
No need to worry about rain – we’ve flowered our fair share of weddings at Brittland in not-so-fair weather, and there are always options!
Sofie + Shaun’s October wedding was right on the edge of a huge rainstorm, and the decision was made to move the ceremony under the tent instead of in the garden. Just because it wasn’t their first choice doesn’t mean it didn’t turn out even better! You can read all about their wedding day on the blog here, and check out some pictures below of their chuppah-turned-head table!
Stephanie + Elliot were also rained out with a hurricane at Brittland Estates, but opted to keep their ceremony in the garden space and add a tent. Guests stayed warm and dry, and everything went beautifully! You can read more about their day here!
Show a Little Love for the Tents
The vows have been said, rings exchanged, guests have mingled… now we’re on to the reception! Brittland Estates works locally with Eastern Shore Tents + Events for most rental items, and we’ve gotta say that their sailcloth tent on the brick patio is classic Eastern Shore wedding perfection.
Lindsay + Damian chose a greenery garland tent entrance, wrapped tent poles by the dance floor, and greenery on their rattan chandeliers. Marcella + Justin also opted for the tent entrance greenery, and chandelier greenery on their black iron lighting. Kayla and Liam chose a whimsical tent pole greenery to accent their black and white checkered dance floor.
Wedding Tablescapes for Any Style
With a tented reception space this large (depending on your guest count, of course), the options are endless for how you choose your tables. Rectangle or round, or even square, mixed and match or all one variety… they all look beautiful!
Kelly and Brett kept it simple and clean with all of their tables having our floating candles with eucalyptus tucked around the base. Natalie and Tyler opted for our scattered vases and silver mercury compotes, full of brightly colored florals to complement the soft blues and whites of the linens and other wedding decor elements. And can we just have a moment for their cake?!! Made by another local vendor, Abby Robson with Cakes by Abby.
Marcella + Justin had all rectangular tables, but mixed them in three styles: our white compote arrangement and scattered vases on cream linens, and a wood harvest table for the wedding party with more vases of her own collection. All tables had rose gold votive holders to tie it all together! You can read more about their wedding day here.
Kayla + Liam went with bright summer florals for their August wedding, using a mix of round floral arrangements and bud vases on their guest tables.
Stephanie + Elliot mixed round and rectangular tables as well, but chose potted plants and greenery garlands for their centerpieces! They had other vintage containers throughout the reception space full of our fresh hydrangeas, tinged pink in the fall.
Sofie + Shaun had round guest tables, alternating between a round floral arrangement with votives and a trio of floating candles in glass cylinders with greenery at the base. Their head table stole the show thanks to their rain plan – three harvest tables placed end to end with candles and a greenery garland, running right through their ceremony chuppah! The couple sat at the center, perfectly framed.
Lindsay + Damian chose a mix of our white compote dish arrangements and scattered vases for their autumn wedding full of pinks and whites. They wanted a very full look down their harvest tables, and added extra bud vases as well as tapers and votives to their cloth runner.
Sarah + Tyler had an INCREDIBLE clear top tent for their November wedding! They went with classic floating candle trios in varying height glass cylinders with eucalyptus tucked around the base for their round guest tables. Their head table had a matching greenery garland with added florals and taper candles. After the ceremony, Sarah repurposed her and her bridesmaids bouquets to the head table, adding a pop of color!

We’re right around the corner for a farm tour while you’re in town planning out your venue and rentals, and we’re always happy to hop over for a site walk-through, too.
