White + Green Weddings – A Classic Combination

Although we love to get wild with color here at Wildly Native, there is definitely something that draws us in about a timeless white and green wedding!!  Maybe it’s a palate cleanser between the other more vibrant color palettes, or maybe it’s a breath of calm in the chaos of wedding planning, but either way we can definitely appreciate this classic choice of wedding flowers.

The Flower Farm Perspective

Seeing white and green growing in different ways throughout the year, and the changes in which flowers are in season, also helps to keep it fresh for us!!  From tulips, ranunculus, and peonies leading the way in spring, through summer’s hydrangeas, zinnias, and cosmos, and into fall with dahlias and mums, our version of farm grown wedding flowers changes week by week.

Many varieties help to blend the seasons as the weeks pass, such as snapdragons, larkspur, strawflower, agrostemma, scabiosa, feverfew, lisianthus, dianthus, yarrow, and gomphrena all lending their own shape, size, and texture to the overall theme of green and white.

And let’s not forget the greens!! Our farm fresh eucalyptus is always a favorite, as well as our forsythia, camelia, and mint varieties. Many cut flower varieties also have great greens, like cosmos, ageratum, baptisia and more. Using herbs not only adds visual variety, but also makes your bouquet smell amazing!

Local Spring White and Green Wedding

Brittani + Petey’s spring wedding here in Kent County was one with timeless style, and a lot of local vendors!  Her bouquet was full of white peonies and dainty allium blossoms, eucalyptus and veronica, and other spring blooms.  Their ceremony in historic downtown Chestertown took place at Emmanuel Parish, and the style of her florals fit perfectly with the location.

Their reception was a short ride away at Red Acres Farm, both in their beautiful event barn as well as under a clear-top tent on their patio.  Lush greenery garlands lined her wooden harvest tables, while a mixture of our scattered bud vases with white and green florals centered the round guest tables.

The focal point of their reception tent was the circular bar in the center with our greenery chandelier hanging above!  Full of a variety of greens for texture and color variation, the chandelier really wowed as the sun set and the gentle tent lighting came on!!

White and Green with a Nautical Theme

Full wedding party stands in a line with bride and groom in middle.

Rebecca + Matt had a late summer wedding with a really laid-back vibe on her parent’s waterfront property.  Full of white hydrangeas and eucalyptus, with touches of blue only in her bridesmaid bouquets, it was a perfect fit for a slightly nautical eastern shore wedding.

They even lucked out with a coincidental sail-by from our local historical ship, the schooner Sultana!

Adding a Pop of Color!

For Allison’s wedding, she had us create her bouquets, boutonnieres, and arch flowers in a classic combination of whites, creams, and greens.  When we saw her photo gallery come in with that bright red truck, we were all in love!!

Her wedding was a DIY setup, where she picked up the florals herself instead of having us deliver! Hanging the arch floral pieces is a simple job to handle with a few friends, and we are always happy to help our couples figure out ways to make their flower contracts work for them.

A Gorgeous Outdoor Autumn Wedding

Kasey + Kenny had a gorgeous wedding in Frederick, Maryland, at Walker’s Overlook. It was every bit the classic white and green wedding!

We created a ground arch underneath the huge tree for their ceremony, lots of greenery garlands for her signage, sweet bouquets of white and green, and extra touches at every turn!  One of our favorites was a simple piece of eucalyptus tucked at every place setting. Her bridal bouquet was a great example of our classic rounded style!

Disco Install for a Modern Feel

Christina and Adam’s wedding reception is a perennial favorite of ours, thanks to the huge disco ball installation!! The couple had already wed in a small elopement, so our white and green wedding florals were entirely reception oriented. The focal point was the greenery we installed overhead on her disco ball dance floor, while the floral table arrangements, garlands, and scattered vases filled the rest of her tent!

Wintry White and Green Wedding

Cynthia + Ryan’s white and green wedding was a perfect match for their venue. Willowbrook weddings has a gorgeous event barn with an all-black exterior, adding a moody elegance to the neutral color scheme!

Their outdoor ceremony was complete with our wooden arch and florals, while inside her tables had floating candles and greenery tucked in between.
