We’ve had a lot of creative ideas from our couples over the years, but this is the only wedding we’ve done (so far!) that mixes our farm grown blooms with LEGO flowers!!
Meet the LEGO Couple
Brett + Christie are both teachers in our local school system – with him teaching Engineering at the high school level and her teaching Pre-K. A few of us have either taught beside them or watched as they taught our kids, and love how much they bring their heart and soul to the job!!

Being a tinkerer at heart, Brett came up with a super unique idea to propose to Christie. He designed a custom LEGO set that replicated their home! He even wrote a step-by-step instruction manual for her to build it with. Once they got to the minifigures at the end, who of course looked like them, the last step was adding a mini LEGO engagement ring! He had the real one ready to go, and of course she said yes.
So it was no surprise that when it came time to choose their wedding flowers, they would incorporate legos into every place possible. A week or so ahead of their early August wedding, Brett + Christie came by the flower barn to deliver a box full of LEGO flowers ready for us to use!! We may or may not have spent some time combing through them all and figuring out which ones matched up to real life varieties.
Meet the LEGO Flowers
Her bouquet, as well as the bridal party, featured a mix of our summer wildflower wedding blooms and the LEGO flowers that they had built and dropped off. We loved watching as everyone did a double take once they noticed something looked a little different!

The boutonnieres were made with our farm grown flowers, and each had a mini-figure added on that were designed to look like each of the groomsmen!

The ceremony was held under the trees at Worsell Manor, and we decorated the hexagon arch with our bright and vibrant summer blooms.

The aisle was lined with smaller scale arrangements that would later be repurposed into the reception space. Each of these little wooden boxes held a mix of fresh and LEGO flowers.

Inside, the aisle pieces were used on tables, as well as these scattered bud vases. Their sweetheart table had a garland that decorated the front edge!

A Truly Unique Evening
We were fortunate to attend this wedding, and I think our favorite part was listening to the guests slowly realize that there were LEGO flowers in each piece. It became a scavenger hunt for people to find them in all of the arrangements during the rest of the night!

One of my favorite moments from the wedding was when a little boy – he had to be around 6 or 7 – looked at the flowers and said ”Hey Mom – look there’s legos!” She said “No honey they are flowers’, to which he said “No Mom LOOK – they are LEGOS!” When she looked a little closer she realized like oh my gosh you are right!!!
We could not have been happier to be a part of Christie + Brett’s wedding day. And the fact that it’s one of our most unique weddings ever is just the icing on the cake!
Would you incorporate LEGO flowers into your wedding day?
