Retro Vibes for the Elegant Bride

We knew Thalia and Colton’s retro vibes wedding was going to be one for the books from the very first phone call – she wanted a retro seventies vibe with an understated elegance, full of burnt orange, fall colors, jewel tones, and rich hues.  Count us in!!

“Liza and her entire team were amazing. They made planning for my wedding so seamless. She listened to my vision, and gave me feedback that fit my vision as well.”

Late October at Hazelwood Weddings is a truly gorgeous time of year, where the natural beauty creates a backdrop of rich undertones next to the crisp white barn.  Their ceremony was held outside on their patio, down an aisle covered with oriental rugs for a runner leading up to a wooden arch draped in a gorgeous rust tone chiffon!  Our floral curtain tie backs held the drapery in place and added a touch of natural beauty and color.

Gorgeous Jewel Tones

The bridal party was wearing every shade of fall jewel tones in satins and velvet, and the overall look was SO STUNNING!! Our farm grown florals popped with the colors, and the groom and groomsmen in their classic black suits with bow ties upped the elegance of the evening.  As an added special touch, they had us create pocket square style boutonnieres for their dads so they would stand out as honored family members!  We love coming up with unique ways to make your family members feel special.

Retro Vibes Wedding Reception

Walking into their reception, guests were both welcomed and blown away by the style and decor that Thalia and Colton had carefully cultivated!  From the groovy retro fonts to the custom disco ball, and the personalized photo albums, everything was so unique and tailored to their retro vibes wedding aesthetic.

Tons of Texture – Bud Vases, Candles, & Fabric

Ceremony florals were repurposed from the arch to their sweetheart table, set on top of an oriental rug at the foot of the table.  Behind them, they utilized Hazelwood’s double sided accent wall on the side with the dark wood stain and the mini shelves to hold our bud vases in vibrant jewel tones.  We mixed in some of our square gold votive candles to add to the retro vibes, and placed vases on the tabletop as well!

In the reception space, their guest tables were draped in rust red muslin cheesecloth table runners, perfectly twisted and scrunched for texture.  They set out gold arch shaped table numbers, which reflected the colors in our florals!  We scattered our mixed height and texture glass bud vases full of rich retro jewel tones throughout, and we gotta say the whole thing turned out beautifully!

Retro Elegance

And can we all take a minute to talk about the dress?!! I know as the florist we had nothing to do with it, but still… we can’t have a blog post for their wedding day without acknowledging this bridal look!  Such a perfect blend of elegance mixed with the rustic scenery and of course a dash of that seventies glam!

“I absolutely loved my flowers on my wedding day. They were perfection!”
