Bride and groom surrounded by cheering bridal party

Blue & White Waterfront Wedding

Welcome to the quintessential summer waterfront wedding: a classic blue and white wedding on the coast! These stylish coastal weddings are always popular especially during the summer months when seaside wedding ceremonies take over the coastline. Kylie + Brodie put together a beautiful June wedding filled with unique personal touches and stunning summer florals. Kylie was not our typical bride – she is an event planner herself and already had lots of ideas and knowledge of how to make her wedding dreams come true! The results were stunning! (And if you see blue floral designs on our website – chances are they’re from Kylie and Brodie’s wedding!)

Weather remained clear and full of sunshine for Kylie and Brodie’s outdoor seaside ceremony by the waterfront at The Inn at Haven Harbour in Rock Hall, Maryland. Pedestal flowers framed the couple during their vows creating a beautiful vignette by the harborside. We used white pedestals topped with flower arrangements in all the gorgeous blues!

Baskets Galore!

Baskets full of blue and white blooms bookended the aisle entrance for the arrival of both the guests and the bridal party. These baskets pulled double duty as after the reception they were moved to compliment the blue & white seating chart for the reception dinner.

Wedding Fashion for the Coastline

We love seeing how the floral designs can coordinate with the bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s suits. Bridesmaids wore one-shoulder deep blue dresses, and their bouquets added a bright pop of white and light blue, complimenting the darker tones of the dresses. The bouquets for the bridal party were coordinating smaller versions of Kylie, the bride’s, own bouquet. Groomsmen attire continued the theme with slate suits; their pocket squares and matching ties adding a pop of deep blue. With a pop of blue from clothing, the groomsmen just needed a dash of white from the boutonnieres pinned next to the pocket squares to complete the blue & white theme.

Something borrowed, something blue (and white)!

Every detail added new elements following the blue and white color scheme. Kylie and Brodie took a classic waterfront wedding style and elevated it to fit their personalities and waterfront wedding venue. Kylie’s pearl jewelry and even blue perfume continued with the blue & white theme!

Neutral tones allowed the blue and white designs to be the focus. The furniture was either blue, white, or natural wood tones. Creative use of furniture rentals from Pretty Little Wedding Co allowed Kylie and Brodie to create an extra seating area for guests to mingle and relax on armchairs and loveseats. The couple opted for wood candlestick holders instead of a traditional metal to continue with the neutral tones. Similarly, instead of traditional charger plates, they used woven mats. Neutral wood tones for the furniture, hanging plants, candle holders, and woven charger plates allowed the blues to be front and center.

No area of the wedding design was missed when it came to the theme. Each guest’s place setting was made up of blue and white elements, a nod to the oceanside. Blue glassware at each guest’s place setting paired with blue and white linens. The glassware added to the classic blue & white look while also bringing in boho touches. Other boho and coastal touches were added creating a blend of classic summer waterfront wedding at the harbor with outdoor tent wedding vibes. Wood and wicker chairs as well as the tall wooden candlesticks grounded the design in nature, while the long tables, gold flatware, and glass votives added a classy flair.

Creative & Custom Made

We needed to create more than just a centerpiece for these long tented tablescapes that guests sat at. We built white planter boxes that ran the whole length of the tables, filled with eucalyptus, chinese forget me nots, and white gypsophila.  The floral design for the table acted not only as a centerpiece but as a table runner, too!  Wildly Native also brought in greenery for the tented reception area in addition to the ceremony and personal flowers. We created garlands of greenery that were put along tables and the outdoor bar at The Inn at Haven Harbor. Additionally, a big floral arrangement with blue hydrangeas in the starring role was placed at the bar, matching the blue & white wedding signage encouraging guests to try out the bride and groom’s signature cocktails.  We love helping customize a wedding day to fit the bride & groom’s wedding vision perfectly. For Kylie and Brodie, we custom made the white planter boxes for the flowers as well as provided the hammered copper compote to hold a stunning overflowing flower arrangement for the head table.
